I have a collection of hand-made Japanese papers dating from 1910 that are so wonderful to print on. The packs of paper come bound together with kozo strands. The paper has a natural tone and so I have learned to mix my colors a touch darker so they stand out on the buff tone.

While printing the other day, I was greeted by a century old creature sandwiched between the sheets of paper. The little bug is wonderfully preserved in great detail. I am not sure what to do with the critter but have it safely stored away with some other unique papers. If only the little guy could tell stories of the life it lived in.
