Bishop's Chapel
Woodblock, Looking back.
A brief look at the reduction woodblock process of creating "Bishop's Chapel". The process starts by transferring a drawing onto the block which is then carved incrementally, printing a color between each carving. This carve/print process is repeated for each color variation until the image eventually comes together.
Using the Japanese method of printing, I am able to focus on and print segments of the block. This segmentation allows me to develop the value and color progressions that establish form and mood within the image.
