Over the years I have used a number of different methods of printing my woodblocks. I initially started on a 1934 Vandercook Proof Press and using a commercial oil based relief ink. Then I played with an 1895 Chandler and Price platen press with the same inks.
Through out it all, one of my guiding lights has been the Japanese prints of the 1800's. The translucency of their colors is so evocative.
