7 x 5"
Edition of 6
Using the Japanese method (Moku Hanga), the woodblock was printed on c.1900 handmade paper that is so thin it almost feels like tissue paper. It offered a challenge handling it when damp, but it was well worth the effort. Using two blocks the editions was printed as a reduction print, with about 9 color runs.
Since the paper is so delicate and for their protection, I have matted the woodblocks in a 12” x 9” cotton rag mat and hinged each print with a kozo paper hinge. Some of the prints have very small worm holes in the margins, which is one of the issues of using an old paper that has been in a bundle for decades.
